Miniature Bull Terrier

The Miniature Bull Terrier is one of the odd dogs out in the terrier group. He is not a pure terrier- and ,in fact ,he was originally more a dog fighter than a small pest-controller.The breed's shape contrasts with other terriers. The Miniature Bull terrier is much more burly,he has an egg-shaped head and a Roman nose.He gives the impression of being ready for anything and is nicknamed the Gladiator of the Terriers,a description that fits him perfectly.

His coat is short and flat with a feel of harshness about it.He is simple to groom,by sponging the dirt off and then rubbing him down with a cloth. He is a very active dog.He likes exercise and food and he is a grand dog to have about the home because he loves people, but woe betide any burglar!

BTs are superb athletes, always eager for a game of ball or frisbee. As puppies, this bounding energy combined with amazing strength often makes them rowdy and in need of a firm hand.Their clowning antics have made them a subject of cartoonists and commercials.Like the AmStaff, the Bull Terriers are wonderful people dogs and long-suffering with children.(This ofcourse does not mean abuse, but normal ,active, clumsy behaviours).

We are a small hobby kennel located in Graham ,Washington approximately 35 miles from Mount Rainer. We first started raising terriers 14yrs ago.We started with Jack Russell Terriers(Short legged Type) which we strictly raised as companion family pets.We knew that we wanted to show dogs..but I am very peculiar about the type of dog and character. So about 11yrs ago at the Veterinary Hospital that I work at,I met my first regular Bully  " Merlin " and immediately fell in love. But Merlin was a BIG boy and that was too much dog for me!!!

About a year later I met a Mini Bull Terrier and knew that this was the type of dog I wanted ! As you know…it is hard to get a mini and the waiting list is usually long.So I started looking …and finally found a dog breeder that I felt comfortable with.We then put our name on the list…It seemed like it took forever. Finally the puppies were born! It was then we picked "Moe" .

From then on it was off to the shows…"Moe" made his champion at an early 10 1/2 months of age! We were totally excited and decided this was the breed for us!

Cautions When Buying:When looking to purchase a Miniature Bull Terrier remember to ask seller to send more pictures of the puppy,a current pedigree and if seller states puppy is AKC registered …ask for a registration number. There has been many scams,so be careful.

Never send money by wire to purchase a dog, make sure you ask a lot of questions.

The Miniature Bull Terrier is a challenging dynamo with a natural ebullience and tenacity. With his disctinctive egg-shaped head, large erect ears, and tiny sunken, triangular eyes,it should be evident that he is not a 'Pit Bull' but be prepared to explain this to the public. We have committed ourselves to the Miniature Bull Terrier and will do our best to preserve the breed. We believe in doing all necessary testing.
